Training Unit
The Training Unit provides the training and equipment for sworn officers of the Paramus Police Department. The Training Unit is responsible for planning, developing and evaluating training programs, administering the firearms program including the operation of the range, maintaining training records, administering the training budget, developing and selecting instructors, orientation of all police recruits, notifying personnel of required training, and scheduling the training classrooms. The Police Training Commission mandates bi-annual reviews of certain topics, including Firearms Qualifications, Pursuit Guidelines, Use of Force, and Domestic Violence Laws.
