Patrolman Brock was killed in an automobile accident while responding to an emergency 9-11 call. The call was later determined to be a false call. As Patrolman Brock responded, he lost control of his patrol vehicle and crashed into a utility pole. Patrolman Brock was transported to the hospital where he died of internal injuries. A subsequent investigation revealed that the Crown Victoria patrol car had a defect in the power-steering. Two suspects were convicted regarding making the false call and sentenced to 9 years and 18 months, respectively.
